Mega caps, growth stocks, chipmakers lead market
Dow -19.69 at 41934.55, Nasdaq +175.60 at 18099.50, S&P +34.59 at 5730.53

[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.04%) has traded near its flat line thus far while the S&P 500 (+0.5%) and Nasdaq Composite (+0.8%) trade up. 

Growth stocks are boosting the broader market, along with mega caps and semiconductor-related shares. The Russell 3000 Growth Index trades up 1.2% versus a 0.2% decline in the Russell 3000 Value Index. 

Strength in these areas has also helped the S&P 500 information technology (+1.5%), communication services (+0.7%), and consumer discretionary (+0.7%) sectors. Meanwhile, the energy sector (-2.7%) is the worst performer by far, dropping alongside oil prices.
