Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The market continues to build on early gains, leading the major indices to trade at or near session highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (+0.3%) recently joined the S&P 500 (+1.5%) and Nasdaq Composite (+2.3%) in positive territory. 

Dow component Boeing (BA 189.30, +2.30, +1.2%) is among the winning standouts today after reporting earnings and naming Kelly Ortberg as President and CEO. 

This price action is also contributing to the gain in the S&P 500 industrial sector, which trades 1.1% higher. The top performing sectors are information technology (+3.3%), consumer discretionary (+1.8%), and communication services (+1.4%) sectors.
