[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices moved off opening highs, but maintain a positive posture. The market-cap weighted S&P 500 is 0.7% higher and the equal-weighted S&P 500 shows a 0.3% gain.
Mega caps, semiconductor stocks, and growth stocks are leading the indices higher. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) shows a 1.4% gain, the PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) is trading 2.1% higher, and the Russell 3000 Growth Index sports a 1.4% gain.
Market breadth reflects an underlying positive bias. Advancers lead decliners by a roughly 2-to-1 margin at both the NYSE and at the Nasdaq.
