Yesterday's action led the S&P 500 to close above its 50-day moving average (5,508) and today's extension has the Nasdaq Composite approaching its 50-day moving average (17,520).
Small and mid cap stocks are also participating in the broad advance. The Russell 2000 sports a 0.3% gain and the S&P Mid Cap 400 trades 0.2% higher.
