Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.7%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.7%), and Dow Jones Industrial Average (+1.0%) reached session highs over the last half hour.

Some mega cap names trade lower, weighing down index performance somewhat. NVIDIA (NVDA 119.02, -0.12, -0.1%), Meta Platforms (META 524.60, -1.00, -0.2%), Eli Lilly (LLY 934.52, -0.49, -0.1%), and Tesla (TSLA 229.43, -0.38, -0.1%) are standouts in that respect. 

The S&P 500 sectors that house the aforementioned names have also been slightly limited, but still trade higher. The information technology sector shows the slimmest gain among the 11 sectors, up 0.4%. Positive price action in Microsoft (MSFT 429.13, +2.13, +0.5%) and Apple (AAPL 223.79, +1.02, +0.5%) have provided offsetting support.
