[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices moved slightly lower over the last half hour. The Dow Jones Industrial Average trades about 70 points lower, the S&P 500 trades about 115 points lower, and the Nasdaq Composite is down about 650 points.
Some of the weakness today is related to hesitation in front of a busy week of earnings. About 40% of the S&P 500 in terms of market cap reports earnings this week, according to FactSet. Two of the three $3 trillion companies are among them -- Apple (AAPL 228.44, +5.65, +2.5%) and Microsoft (MSFT 426.91, -17.13, -3.8%).
Other top-weighted names reporting earnings include Meta Platforms (META 656.10, +8.83, +1.4%) and Tesla (TSLA 399.21, -7.37, -1.7%).
There's also a slate of blue-chip companies reporting results, including General Motors (GM 54.53, +0.62, +1.2%) and Boeing (BA 175.35, -0.70, -0.4%).
