[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.1%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.1%), and DJIA (-0.1%) now sit just above session lows as the broader market stabilizes from a relatively sharp retreat.
Seven S&P 500 sectors sit in negative territory, though with the exception of the financials sector (-1.2%), losses remain modest.
The information technology (+0.4%) and communication services (+0.4%) sectors have ceded around half of their earlier gains as mega-cap names have seen some profit-taking, with the Vanguard Mega-Cap Growth ETF (+0.1%) now just slightly above its flatline.
The retreat coincides with a Truth Social post from President Trump, which said, "I am speaking to President Putin now. The conversation is ongoing, a lengthy one, and I will report the contents, as will President Putin, at its conclusion."
Treasury yields dipped around the same time, with the 10-year note yields now down three basis points to 4.02%.
