The consumer discretionary sector (+0.7%) now challenges the information technology sector (+0.8%) as today's best-performing S&P 500 sector, supported by strong leadership from Tesla (TSLA 465.04, +12.62, +2.79%) and Amazon (AMZN 228.80, +1.83, +0.81%).
Elsewhere in the sector, Royal Caribbean (RCL 291.59, -28.67, -8.95%) moves sharply lower despite an earnings beat, as the company guided Q4 EPS expectations below consensus.
