[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.19%) is in second place on Friday afternoon, up about 12 points.

Briefly, S&P 500 constituents Zebra Tech (ZBRA 309.06, +13.21, +4.47%), eBay (EBAY 91.71, +3.31, +3.74%), and ADM (ADM 61.08, +1.97, +3.33%) dot the top of the standings despite a dearth of corporate news.

Meanwhile, Palantir Technologies (PLTR 173.37, -13.68, -7.31%) is today's top laggard after a Reuters report said the U.S. Army flagged "fundamental security" flaws in a key battlefield communications program involving the company, raising concerns about its defense contracts.
