[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 is back pushing its best levels of the session as the large-cap/mega-cap cohort continues to exhibit relative strength in today's trade. That's not to say small-cap stocks and mid-cap stocks are doing poorly. They are not; it's just that they are not doing as well as the bigger names today.
The Russell 2000 is up 0.6% and the S&P Midcap 400 is up 0.2%.
Looking inside the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which houses many of the biggest names, McDonald's (MCD 307.21, +12.91, +4.4%) is the trailblazer today after reporting better-than-feared results. Other big percentage movers today for the price-weighted average include NVIDIA (NVDA 134.45, +4.61, +3.5%), Nike (NKE 70.61, +1.93, +2.8%), and Home Deport (HD 413.95, +6.58, +1.6%).
The weakest link in the Dow today is American Express (AXP 309.64, -7.13, -2.3%), which said at the UBS Conference that it expects Q1 revenues to be lower than Q4 while noting that full-year revenue and EPS guidance is "still in a good place."
