Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 is less than ten points below its all-time high (6,128.18). The index was just one point away from that level at its morning high. 

Gains in Apple (AAPL 244.28, +2.75, +1.1%), NVIDIA (NVDA 137.44, +2.18, +1.6%), and Meta Platforms (META 731.54, +2.98, +0.4%) have provided some offsetting support against losses in Microsoft (MSFT 40672, -3.82, -0.9%), Amazon.com (AMZN 228.20, -2.12, -0.9%), Alphabet (GOOG 186.71, -1.11, -0.6%), and Tesla (TSLA 354.05, -1.88, -0.5%). 

Elsewhere, the Dow Jones Industrial Average moved below its prior close, clipped by declines in Procter & Gamble (PG 165.07, -5.95, -3.5%), Travelers (TRV 237.94, -5.07, -2.1%), and Salesforce (CRM 323.74, -6.11, -1.9%). Roughly half of the 30 components trade lower.
