Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The Vanguard Mega-Cap Growth ETF (MGK) was flat for the session about an hour ago; it is now down 0.8%. Coincidentally, the indices have also faded from better levels.

Just not a lot of conviction on the part of buyers right now because former leadership stocks are not acting well. Nevertheless, there are signs of rotation within the stock market and not simply out of the market.

Value stocks, as a class, are up today, whereas growth stocks, as a class, are not. That is the takeaway from the Russell 3000 Value Index being up 0.2% and the Russell 3000 Growth Index being down 0.7%.

Separately, the information technology sector (-1.3%) is down today while the financial sector (+1.1%) is up.
