[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices trade near session highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average sports a 1.0% gain and the S&P 500 trades 1.4% higher.
Semiconductor stocks are showing relative strength, leading the PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) to trade 2.2% higher. NVIDIA (NVDA 112.79, +1.86, +1.7%) is benefitting from the increased buying interest.
The relative outperformance follows the announcement by the Trump administration that semiconductors are exempt from reciprocal tariffs.
