Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major equity indices trade near session highs.

Earnings news since yesterday's close garnered mixed responses from investors. Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG 48.84, +0.08, +0.2%) has traded flat after tempering its full-year comparable restaurant sales guidance; ServiceNow (NOW 921.69, +109.60, +13.5%) and Texas Instruments (TXN 160.91, +8.74, +5.7%) are sharply higher in response to earnings; and Southwest Airlines (LUV 25.19, -0.33, -1.2%), IBM (IBM 230.75, -14.69, -6.0%), and Merck (MRK 77.96, -0.78, -1.0%) are lower after reporting results and guidance. 

Buying interest has been robust despite the aforementioned, notable earnings-related losers. The Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) trades 1.1% higher.
