[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices have maintained their postures near session highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (+3.5%) is more than 1,400 points higher.
Gains in the mega cap space have an outsized impact on major indices. NVIDIA (NVDA 104.44, +6.96, +7.2%), Apple (AAPL 189.20, +7.75, +4.4%), and Microsoft (MSFT 371.77, +13.65, +3.8%) are among the influential winners. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) shows a 4.7% gain.
Chipmakers are also showing sizable gains, boosting major indices and the tech sector (+5.1%). The PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) trades 5.2% higher.
