Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major equity indices trade just off session highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 430 points higher at its best level of the morning, and trades about 200 points higher now.

The top performing Dow component in terms of percentage gain is Microsoft (MSFT 429.40, +34.02, +8.6%) after topping Azure growth estimates. 

NVIDIA (NVDA 113.53, +4.61, +4.2%) and Amazon.com (AMZN 189.28, +4.89, +2.6%), which reports earnings results this afternoon, are the next best performers in the Dow.

Amgen (AMGN 283.78, -7.25, -2.5%), UnitedHealth (UNH 401.85, -9.53, -2.3%), and Merck (MRK 83.45, -1.75, -2.1%) are the worst performing Dow components in terms of percentage declines. The broader health care sector is lagging today after a Politico report that House Speaker Mike Johnson is trying to convince President Trump to support Medicaid cuts in the reconciliation bill.
