Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market remains in an uptrend at this point in the session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (+0.3%) and the S&P 500 () are near intraday highs.

The increase in buying coincided with Treasury yields dropping sharply. The 10-yr yield, at 4.53% earlier, sits at 4.44%. The 2-yr yield was at 4.03% earlier, but sits at 3.97% now.

Many stocks have participated in upside moves. Only two S&P 500 sectors remain in the red -- consumer discretionary (-0.9%) and energy (-0.5%) -- while nine sectors trade up between 0.1% (communication services) and 1.5% (consumer staples).
