Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market is on track to log solid gains for a second straight week. The S&P 500 (+1.4%) shows a 2.8% gain from last Friday, the Nasdaq Composite (+1.5%) is 3.4% higher since last week, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (+1.2%) trades 2.8% above its close last week.

Small and mid cap stocks have also exhibited strong upside action this week. The Russell 2000 is 2.9% higher than last Friday and the S&P Mid Cap 400 shows a 3.1% advance off Friday's close. 

Only one S&P 500 sector is negative this week -- energy (-0.5%) -- while the remaining ten sectors show gains ranging from 0.1% to 4.3%.
