[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.3%) and Nasdaq (+0.8%) continue hanging onto their gains while the Dow (-0.1%) remains trapped in the red after outperforming yesterday.
The Dow's underperformance is owed to a soft showing from some of its highest priced components like Home Depot (HD 371.67, -1.49, -0.40%), Visa (V 350.69, -4.78, -1.34%), UnitedHealth (UNH 313.00, -13.14, -4.03%), McDonald's (MCD 293.92, -3.58, -1.20%), and Travelers (TRV 257.20, -9.80, -3.67%).
On the upside, Nike (NKE 76.32, +2.91, +3.96%) holds a solid gain, but it is among the lowest priced components of the Dow.
Treasuries have widened their losses with the 10-yr yield now up five basis points at 4.30%.
