Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market's opening gains have pushed the S&P 500 (+0.5%) and the Nasdaq Composite (+0.7%) to new all-time highs, while the DJIA (+0.1%) captures a more modest gain.

Eight sectors trade in the green to open a hectic week of earnings reports, with earnings (and anticipation of earnings) already influencing today's advancers.

The communication services sector (+1.4%) is the top mover so far, with top component Alphabet (GOOG 190.08, +4.14, +2.2%) trading higher ahead of its earnings report after the close on Wednesday.

Verizon (VZ 41.80, +0.96, +2.4%) also captures an early gain after beating EPS expectations by $0.03 and raising bottom-end FY25 EPS guidance. 

Just released, Leading Indicators for June declined 0.3% (Briefing.com consensus -0.1%) after an upwardly revised unchanged level in May (from -0.1%).
