Equity futures are little changed following a torrent of earnings reports before the open.
This morning's reporters have done generally well from an earnings perspective, with companies such as Coca-Cola (KO 69.45, -0.62, -0.9%), General Motors (GM 52.25, -0.96, -1.8%), and D.R. Horton (DHI 142.40, +11.18, +8.5%) beating EPS expectations and reporting revenues above expectations.
There are a few softer pockets; notably, Lockheed Martin (LMT 425.00, -35.53, -7.7%) and Sherwin-Williams (SHW 334.00, -7.30, -2.1%) missed on both EPS expectations and revenues.
Yesterday's trade saw a strong opening in the wake of earnings optimism, with the major averages trading in a tight range until an afternoon sell-off thinned some of the early gains.
