[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages have slipped into negative territory and are continuing a downward tick to new session lows. Selling pressure has picked up amongst a number of sectors, though the technology sector (flat) has given up all of its gains after being up 0.8% in the early going.
NVIDIA (NVDA 176.18, -0.57, -0.32%) was largely responsible for the early gains, increasing as far as 1.4%, though it is equally responsible for the recent retreat.
The PHLX Semiconductor Index (-0.2%) now trades in negative territory after briefly sporting an early gain of 1.2%.
