Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are slightly improved from previous levels as the market digests some developments on the geopolitical front.

The Telegraph reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told other European leaders that while he is not willing to concede any territory that is currently held by Ukraine, territory that Russia currently occupies could be negotiated as part of a ceasefire deal. 

President Trump expressed optimism in a press conference that his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be productive in ending the war in Ukraine.

In the same press conference, the president did not give a definitive answer as to whether the trade deadline with China will be extended but noted that China has been "dealing nicely" and "we will see what happens."
