Chipmakers see early strength
Dow +446.81 at 44421.90, Nasdaq +127.73 at 21511.74, S&P +39.19 at 6412.64

[BRIEFING.COM] The DJIA (+1.0%) is off to a strong start this morning, while the S&P 500 (+0.6%) and Nasdaq Composite (+0.6%) hold on to the bulk of their opening advance. 

Within the Dow, UnitedHealth (UNH 262.63, +10.26, +4.07%), Goldman Sachs (GS 739.93, +20.69, +2.88%), and Boeing (BA 230.89, +4.93, +2.18%) all hold healthy gains.

Sector strength remains strong as eight S&P 500 sectors trade above their baselines. 

Although the broader information technology sector (+0.5%) holds a more modest gain, and NVIDIA (NVDA 180.54, -1.52, -0.83%) trades lower, other semiconductor companies are elevating the PHLX Semiconductor Index (+1.5%). 

onsemi (ON 50.68, +3.58, +7.60%) is the top-performing stock within the S&P 500, taking back a chunk of last week's losses that followed the company's earnings report. Microchip (MCHP 65.12, +4.17, +6.84%) also sees early strength, and Texas Instruments (TXN 192.11, +8.40, +4.57%) also trades higher, following an post by analyst Dan Nystedt claiming that the company notified clients of a 30% price hike on over 60,000 chips.
