Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.9%) and Nasdaq Composite (+1.0%) extend their advance into record territory, while the DJIA (+1.1%) now sits less than 1.5% below its own record high level from December 4, 2024. 

BLS Commissioner nominee E.J. Antoni suggested that the monthly jobs report could be paused to fix methodology during a Fox Business interview. Antoni stated that in the meantime, the BLS should keep publishing the quarterly jobs report. 

The New York Post reports that Russian troops have pushed six miles further into Donetsk, a region that Moscow has reportedly demanded full control of in ceasefire negotiations. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated yesterday that while territory that is currently held by Ukrainian forces is off the negotiating table, he may be willing to concede some regions that are held by Russian forces.
