Futures point to higher open after yesterday's record highs
Market is Closed
[BRIEFING.COM] S&P futures vs fair value: +19.00. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: +87.00.

The stock market is on track for a higher opening as stocks look to expand on yesterday's gains that pushed the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite to new record high levels.

The major averages steadily pushed higher throughout the session yesterday and closed just below session highs, meaning it will take just modest opening gains for the indices to set record highs again today.

Yesterday's release of the July CPI somewhat eased inflation concerns and boosted expectations for interest rate cuts at both the September FOMC meeting as well as the October and December meetings.

Today's session will lack the headline catalyst of yesterday, though equity futures trading higher indicate that this could keep the market focused on yesterday's momentum.

CNBC reports that the Trump administration is now considering 11 candidates for the Fed Chair nomination following the conclusion of Fed Chair Jerome Powell's term.
