Within the DJIA, Home Depot (HD 406.98, +12.28, +3.11%) has narrowed its early gain, while names such as UnitedHealth (UNH 301.46, -7.03, -2.28%) and Goldman Sachs (GS 721.70, -9.26, -1.27%) widen their losses.
Today's action comes on mixed-breadth figures. Advancers outpace decliners by a 3-to-2 margin on the NYSE, though decliners hold an 11-to-8 edge on the Nasdaq.
Underperformance in tech and small-cap names contributes to the negative breadth figure on the NASDAQ, while the rest of the market performs modestly well.
