[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.4%) and Nasdaq Composite (-1.0%) trade in a relatively tight range near session lows, while the DJIA trades flat after losing a considerable early gain.
Despite the increasingly negative tone in today's trade, there are some early winners.
Homebuilders such as D.R. Horton (DHI 167.99, +2.83, +1.71%), Lennar (LEN 133.78, +2.36, +1.79%), and PulteGroup (PHM 130.68, +2.46, +1.92%) hold similar gains after this morning's release of July Housing Starts data (1.428 million vs Briefing.com consensus 1.311 million).
The iShares U.S. Home Construction ETF is up 1.7% today, widening its month-to-date gain to 13.8%.
Elsewhere, the Dow Jones Transportation Averge is up 1.4%, seeing strong leadership from Uber (UBER 95.80, +1.82, +1.94%) and healthy gains across the majority of its components.
