Smaller-cap stocks outperform
Dow -34.07 at 45248.40, Nasdaq +18.24 at 21466.14, S&P -0.21 at 6439.11

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 trades flat, the Nasdaq Composite (+0.1%) holds on to a slim gain, and the DJIA (-0.1%) trades just below its flatline. 

Today's trade, like yesterday's, has so far commenced in an uneventful fashion, keeping the major averages within a tight range near their opening levels. 

Smaller-cap stocks are performing better today, with the Russell 2000 advancing 0.7% and the S&P Mid Cap 400 adding 0.5%.

Mega-caps are also advancing, just at a slightly lesser pace. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF is up 0.2% today.

In stock-specific news, Cracker Barrel (CBRL 56.99, +2.72, +5.01%) trades higher after President Trump stated in a Truth Social post that the company should go back to its original logo amid the controversy around its new logo.
