Before the deal, two packages of countermeasures were set to take effect this Wednesday to address the U.S. tariffs on the EU that set a 15% baseline rate for most goods.
Bloomberg reported earlier that the EU is expecting President Trump to formally announce carve-outs for auto imports and certain other products.
