[BRIEFING.COM] A slight uptick in the major averages has lifted them from session lows, but the S&P 500 (-0.4%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.4%), and DJIA (-0.3%) still trade decidedly negative at this juncture.
Softer economic data has renewed concerns around tariff costs and possible stagflation, turning the market lower.
While losses are broad-based, they are still modest in comparison to yesterday's advance, and the major averages still hold nice gains for the week.
Yesterday's gains came on a notably light amount of developments, which continues to be the case today aside from this morning's data and earnings.
