[BRIEFING.COM] As the major averages continue to plot new session highs, a trend of mega-cap outperformance is becoming increasingly clear.
The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF is up 1.0% today, while the market cap-weighted S&P 500 is up only 0.7%, and the equal-weighted S&P 500 is up just 0.1%.
The Russell 2000 (-0.1%) holds a modest loss after closing with healthy gains earlier in the week. Meanwhile, the S&P Mid Cap 400 trades on its flat line.
Amongst the mega-cap cohort, Apple (AAPL 214.01, +11.09, +5.5%) continues to impress today, buoyed by headlines that the company is increasing its investment in domestic manufacturing by an additional $100 million, while projecting to be largely unaffected by increased tariffs on India, according to CNBC.
