[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.1%) and Nasdaq Composite (flat) continue to trade near their baselines, while the DJIA (-0.4%) moves lower.

A modest pullback from record highs has only two S&P 500 sectors trading higher, though losses remain modest at this juncture.

The consumer discretionary sector (+0.5%) expands upon its nice gain yesterday, benefitting from its largest components, Amazon (AMZN 235.28, +3.85, +1.66%) and Tesla (TSLA 413.79, +3.75, +0.91%), trading higher amid a mixed day for the mega-caps.

Amazon trades higher as its Prime Big Deals Day is set to return October 7-8.

Additionally, Amazon Prime Video will debut as a broadcaster of The Masters in 2026, joining CBS Sports and ESPN.
