[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.1%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.1%), and DJIA (-0.3%) continue to sit in a mixed, flattish fashion amid a quiet Monday morning.
The consumer discretionary sector (+0.4%) now holds a decent gain as Tesla (TSLA 442.72, +16.64, +3.91%) trades higher, masking losses elsewhere in the sector.
St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem (FOMC voting member) stated in a speech that he supported the 25-basis point cut to the fed funds rate at last week's FOMC meeting, noting that monetary policy now lies in an appropriate stance between modestly restrictive and neutral.
Mr. Musalem stated there is "limited room for easing further without policy becoming overly accommodative."
