Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The DJIA (flat) has retreated to its flatline as stocks face mounting pressure just after midday. 

Breadth figures denote the steady decline, with advancers now outpacing decliners by a roughly 3-to-2 margin on the NYSE and Nasdaq after leading by a greater than 2-to-1 clip earlier in the session. 

Five S&P 500 sectors remain in positive territory, though losses are becoming increasingly modest, with the exception of the energy sector (+2.4%).
