A modest rally would put the major averages back within striking distance of record high levels from early last week.
Electronic Arts (EA 203.85, +10.50, +5.4%) has garnered a fair share of coverage this morning after news that the company will be taken private in a $55 billion all-cash deal.
In other corporate news, Comcast (CMCSA 31.80, +0.08, +0.3%) announced that Michael J. Cavanagh has been named Co-Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective January 2026. He will serve alongside Brian L. Roberts, who will continue as Chairman and Co-CEO. Cavanagh will also be named to the Comcast Board of Directors at that time.
