Consumer discretionary sector advances
Dow +54.30 at 45455.16, Nasdaq +169.63 at 21870.02, S&P +22.75 at 6504.25

[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are trading within a stable range, maintaining the majority of their early advances.

The consumer discretionary sector (+0.6%) holds a nice gain as a majority of its components trade higher.

Amazon's (AMZN 236.80, +4.47, +1.92%) advance is enough to offset a loss in Tesla (TSLA 347.34, -3.50, -1.00%), which trades lower following a report from Reuters that Tesla's U.S. market share has fallen to its lowest level since 2017 as the company faces increasing competition in the EV space.

Elsewhere in the sector, O'Reilly Auto (ORLY 105.88, +1.04, +0.99%) established a new record-high level.
