[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.6%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.9%), and DJIA (+0.7%) now trade in a steady range as the broader market trends mostly higher.

The health care sector (-1.4%) is now today's biggest laggard, swapping places with the energy sector (-0.7%), which has pared losses despite oil prices continuting to fall.

Boston Scientific (BSX 89.30, -4.44, -4.73%) is the worst performer after announcing the company will buy Penumbra (PEN 351.50, +38.07, +12.15%) for roughly $14.5 billion, or $374 per share in cash and stock.

The sector's largest component, Eli Lilly (LLY 1023.11, -50.18, -4.68%), is another notable laggard after Reuters reported that the FDA has delayed the decision date of the company's weight loss drug pill to April 10.
