[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages continue to come under selling pressure in the early afternoon without a clear news catalyst. The intraday slide saw the Nasdaq Composite (+0.1%) briefly enter negative territory, though the retreat has at least momentarily steadied.
The S&P 500 (+0.3%) and DJIA (+0.5%) are also trending higher again, though their gains are significantly narrowed from earlier levels. Notably, the S&P 500 now trades below its 50-day moving average (6,832).
The Russell 2000 (+0.4%) and S&P Mid Cap 400 (+0.8%) have also shed over half of their earlier gains.
