Futures point to mostly higher open with support from chipmakers

While much of this morning's coverage revolves around the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the subsequent reaction of energy stocks, chipmaker names are quietly gearing up to extend Friday's notable rally. The PHLX Semiconductor Index gained 4.0% on Friday, which was pivotal in helping the S&P 500 finish the day in modestly positive territory.
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD 229.70, +6.23, +2.8%), Micron (MU 324.40, +8.98, +2.8%), and NVIDIA (NVDA 191.31, +2.46, +1.30) are among the prominent names that trade higher this morning.
