Real estate sector moves lower following Trump announcement

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.3%) is now tracking for a lower finish as the broader market takes a dip shortly before the close. The DIA (-0.8%) is also on track for a pullback, while the Nasdaq Composite (+0.3%) defends its modest gain.
While the major averages are mostly lower today, they still all hold gains wider than 1.0% for the week.
The real estate sector (-1.0%), which spent time in positive territory today, is facing pressure after President Trump announced via Truth Social, he is "immediately taking steps to ban large institutional investors from buying more single-family homes, and I will be calling on Congress to codify it. People live in homes, not corporations."
