The industrials sector (-1.3%) is now the worst-performing S&P 500 sector, with pronounced weakness in electrical equipment names such as Generac (GNRC 209.73, -8.64, -3.96%) accompanying another retreat in semiconductor stocks.
Caterpillar (CAT 759.27, -40.10, -5.02%), the sector's largest component, is also extending its recent decline amid elevated Treasury yields. After a strong start to the year, the stock has fallen below both its 50-day (820.31) and 200-day (803.30) moving averages.
