[BRIEFING.COM] The market has improved modestly since the prior update. The S&P 500 has edged closer to unchanged, while the Nasdaq Composite has trimmed its decline to 0.7%. The Dow continues to outperform with a 0.4% gain.
Some rebound fight has emerged in semiconductor and AI-related shares after their initial weakness. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (-1.4%) has come off its session low, alongside Micron (MU 901.75, -29.49, -3.17%), Sandisk (SNDK 1341.38, -53.44, -3.83%).
The recovery effort, though, remains incomplete.
CoreWeave (CRWV 64.17, -5.52, -7.92%) continues to reflect caution surrounding AI and data-center infrastructure investment, and the Nasdaq remains in negative territory. The setup bears watching in light of Thursday's trade, when the broader market recovered from early losses even as semiconductor and other technology stocks remained weak. Today's rebound attempts in the group will need to build further to produce a similar broad-market recovery pattern.
