[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages remain in a relatively steady range at midday, holding modest gains as positive market breadth continues to support the broader market.

On the earnings front, Delta Air Lines (DAL 80.79, -1.35, -1.64%) trades lower after missing Q3 earnings and revenue estimates and cutting its FY26 earnings and free cash flow outlooks. While demand and pricing remain strong, rising fuel costs and elevated operating expenses continue to pressure profitability, with the airline now anticipating a $6 billion increase in full-year fuel expenses.

Separately, crude oil is off its earlier lows, currently up $0.45 (+0.5%) to $91.94 per barrel.
