[BRIEFING.COM] After a solid opening, the S&P 500 (-0.2%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.5%), and DJIA (-0.3%) are now under pressure.

The information technology sector (-0.4%) now sits in negative territory after an opening gain of around 1.0%. Software stocks such as Microsoft (MSFT 403.58, -9.69, -2.34%) and AppLovin (APP 440.70, -32.22, -6.81%) are under pressure, sending the iShares GS Software ETF (IGV) 3.6% lower.

Elsewhere, losses are beginning to accumulate in some of the market's largest names, which weighs heavily on the communication services (-1.3%) and consumer discretionary (-0.7%) sectors.

The financials sector (-0.9%) is down similarly, facing broad pressure.  Robinhood Markets (HOOD 74.98, -10.62, -12.41%) is the worst-performing S&P 500 name today after beating EPS expectations but missing on revenues.

Additionally, Bitcoin is down around 4% today, adding to the sense of volatility.
