DJIA Falls 400+ Points as Goldman, AmEx, IBM Weigh; Verizon Outperforms

[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.82%) is in last place on Thursday afternoon, down about 407 points.

A look inside the DJIA shows that Goldman Sachs (GS 906.72, -27.01, -2.89%), American Express (AXP 338.77, -7.47, -2.16%), and IBM (IBM 255.12, -5.67, -2.17%) are underperforming.

Meanwhile, Verizon (VZ 48.87, +0.82, +1.71%) is atop the standings.

The DJIA is now down about -0.50% week-to-date.
