[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+1.3%), Nasdaq Composite (+1.4%), and DJIA (+1.6%) have turned lower from their session highs, with the major averages now back below their 200-day moving averages.
Strength remains broad, though several sectors that outperformed this morning have seen their early gains considerably narrowed. The top-weighted information technology sector (+1.2%) holds around half of its early gain as losses are beginning to mount across memory storage names such as Micron (MU 404.80, -18.10, -4.28%) and Seagate Tech (STX 401.73, -9.50, -2.31%).
The PHLX Semiconductor Index (+1.4%) has ceded over half of its early gains after trading more than 3.0% higher this morning.
