[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.4%), Nasdaq Composite (-0.5%), and DJIA (-0.4%) are making another run toward session highs after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif requested President Trump extend the deadline for two weeks and Iran open the Strait of Hormuz for a corresponding period of two weeks.

Pakistan is a key mediator in the current negotiations.

Additionally, CNN reporter Alayna Treene wrote on X, "Administration officials are still hopeful that negotiations through intermediaries can produce some level of agreement between the US & Iran that would lead Trump to delay his vow to bomb Iran's power plants and bridges by 8 p.m. tonight."
