Gold Rebounds as Softer Inflation Data Fuels Fed Rate Cut Bets
Dow -63.31 at 52435.33, Nasdaq +279.50 at 26173.68, S&P +33.16 at 7548.50

[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite (+1.08%) is in first place on Tuesday afternoon, up about 280 points.

Gold futures settled $64 higher (+1.6%) at $4,069.70/oz, as softer U.S. inflation data boosted expectations for a less restrictive Federal Reserve policy, pressuring the dollar and supporting bullion. Renewed geopolitical concerns also fueled safe-haven demand, helping gold recover from the prior session’s decline.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index is down about -0.4% to $100.91.
