[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages are little changed following Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's press conference outlining the administration's new "Operation Economic Outcast" campaign against Iran.
Bessent emphasized that the initial measures are intended as a "warning shot," saying Treasury expects to sanction a major financial institution by the end of the week and warning that banks facilitating Iranian activity risk being removed from the U.S. dollar system.
Crude oil remains firmly lower for the day, currently down $2.16 (-2.5%) to $84.90 per barrel.
